St Peter the Apostle
This
painting was lost in the political turmoil surrounding the Comunist takeover of
Budapest - sometime in February 1946.
The son of the sometime owner was then a child but remembers it most vividly. Now grown old in the west and reasonably (not excessively) wealthy he has always yearned to see it again, maybe if at all possible, to repurchase. He stresses that he is not seeking reparation or reconstitution of goods as the circumstances were such as to make title even then unclear. But he is getting old and wants to relive a tiny part of his lost youth.
